What stones actually sell for

Verified sales: median $38/g, ranging from about $14/g (large commercial) to $120/g (Besednice).
Ordinary grades typically sell 30–50% below dealer asking prices; top grades 15–40% below.
Buying directly from Czech finders is often 40–60% cheaper than US retail for comparable stones.

How size affects price

For ordinary stones, price per gram falls as size rises: large commercial stones are the cheapest per gram. For premium shapes, sculptures and Besednice pieces, the opposite is true: large, intact, well-etched pieces cost more per gram.
